Bought: APD, GPC, HCN, HCP, TGT, XOM

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted.  Life has been extremely hectic for me with work and family responsibilities.  March was a month with lots of great buying opportunities, and as such, I capitalized on those opportunities to invest in many different companies.

Below are the companies I purchased for the month of March:
  • I purchased 8 shares of Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (APD) at $137 per share in my wife's Roth IRA account.  This is a dividend yield of 2.77%, adding $30.40 to my non-taxable dividend income.
  • I purchased 11 shares of Genuine Parts Company (GPC) at $93.75 per share in my taxable brokerage account.  This is a dividend yield of 2.88%, adding $29.70 to my taxable dividend income.
  • I purchased 12 shares of Genuine Parts Company (GPC) at $95 per share in my Roth IRA account.  This is a dividend yield of 2.84%, adding $32.40 to my non-taxable dividend income.
  • I purchased 17 shares of Welltower Inc. (HCN) at $67.75 per share in my Roth IRA account.  This is a dividend yield of 5.14%, adding $59.16 to my non-taxable dividend income.
  • I purchased 35 shares of HCP, Inc. (HCP) at $30.87 per share in my wife's Roth IRA account.  This is a dividend yield of 4.79%, adding $51.80 to my non-taxable dividend income.
  • I purchased 18 shares of Target Corporation (TGT) at $58 per share in my taxable brokerage account.  This is a dividend yield of 4.14%, adding $43.20 to my taxable dividend income.
  • I purchased 19 shares of Target Corporation (TGT) at $55.25 per share in my taxable brokerage account.  This is a dividend yield of 4.34%, adding $45.60 to my taxable dividend income.
  • I purchased 13 shares of Exxon Mobil Corporation (XOM) at $81.20 per share in my taxable brokerage account.  This is a dividend yield of 3.69%, adding $39 to my taxable dividend income.
After these purchases, my non-taxable dividend income will increase by $173.76, and my taxable dividend income will increase by $157.50.

I still need to post my monthly report for March, which I will try to get out within the next few days.

What do you think of my March stock purchases?  Do you own any of the same companies?

  1. You have been bust with many great buys. I like quite a few of them. Sometimes I feel like I missed the boat on GPC. It has performed very well from a cap. appreciation and dividend standpoint. Keep it up!

    1. Hi Keith,

Haha thanks. I know you've also been making many great purchases as well. Hopefully the market will continue to offer up great buying opportunities. No worries about GPC; you can always invest in that company at any time. It's just whether or not you are comfortable with the price point. A lot of these good companies keep going up and never really have a good pullback so sometimes I'll just initiate a small position just to get my foot in the door.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

    1. Hi DividendMonkey,

Haha yes, I have been pretty busy with the purchases. I felt like there were some attractively valued companies in March, so I decided to pick up some more shares in existing positions and initiate new positions as well. I'm hoping with the steady investments in these dividend stocks, I can quickly build up a nice dividend income.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
