- 10 shares of Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) at $100.0000 per share.
Johnson & Johnson is engaged in the research and development, manufacture, and sale of various products in the health care field. Some of their well-known brands include Aveeno, Clean & Clear, Lubriderm, Neutrogena, Listerine, Band-Aid, Neosporin, Carefree, Splenda, Tylenol, Sudafed, Zyrtec, Motrin IB, and Pepcid.
I have been wanting to purchase JNJ for years, but I either didn't have the available funds or thought it was too expensive. And the price just kept going up. Back in 2010 when I had considered buying it, it was trading at around $65 per share. Now, it's trading at or above $100 per share. I decided to initiate a position in this company at $100 per share. I know it's not the cheapest, but at least now I have a position in the company. I figure I can always average down my cost basis. Besides, I needed to make one more purchase to qualify for a promotional offer with my brokerage account to receive $100.
I believe that every dividend growth investor should own a piece of this company. The fact that it has been paying increasing dividends for 52 years is a testament to how sturdy this company is.
Great company to add your portfolio. I would love for Loyal3 to offer them one day. I remember looking at them when they were in the late 70's but I ended up going with MCD
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you. I would love for Loyal3 to offer them as well since it's such a solid company. MCD is also a great company as well. Can't go wrong with JNJ or MCD in my opinion.

Great minds think alike! I too bought some JNJ yesterday, and am happy to have added it to my portfolio. I also snagged some EMR.
ReplyDeleteNice! Both are great companies... What were the share prices? I wasn't able to see JNJ and EMR in your portfolio (or maybe I went to the wrong page).
DeleteJNJ is a great long term buy and solid dividend payer. I know that JNJ have become popular again once it hit $100 as other dividend bloggers are buying it up as well. The current yield is pretty juicy well. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and commenting DivHut! I just wished I had purchased JNJ during the financial crisis, but better now than never. :)
